What is the true meaning of Christmas? Is it the gifts under the tree, the cards in the mail, the lights in the windows, ham dinners with family and friends, and shouts of “Merry Christmas to all”?
Is this really Christmas?
Christmas is a time of sorrow for some people. They don’t have the extra money to buy presents when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for different reasons. Ham dinners may be only a wish and not a reality for some.
Christmas can be a season of joy. Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born. When an angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds and the glory of the Lord shone around them, they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy for all people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born, He is Christ the Lord.”
For those who were following the star, find the Christ baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.
Jesus is the reason for the season!!
